Typhoon Field Hockey - Fredericksburg, Virginia

Typhoon is a club for Virginia middle and high school field hockey players. Located in Fredericksburg, the club is organized to provide the serious field hockey athlete with opportunities to compete against elite challengers through tournaments, leagues and developmental training.

Typhoon athletes are expected to demonstrate the qualities of elite players with collegiate field hockey ambition. Players are expected to exhibit a solid understanding of the game and the ability to process advanced techniques and tactics quickly. Other necessary qualities include leadership, field expression, and a productive intensity.

Girls ages 8-11 / 3rd-6th grade. (participation limited to the first 50 girls)

Affect a Scheduled Tournament or Practice?

Sign up to receive text messages to your cell phone or receive an email. Go to RainedOut.com. If required, enter "Typhoon Field Hockey as your organization, then click on club's name from the list. On the club's screen you can click the "sign on" tab and join as a subscriber. All you have to do then is follow the instructions to enter your cell number and/or your email address. When possible, messages will be sent out informing you of any changes/cancellations to scheduled Typhoon events.

Coach Office Hours

Coach Baker will be available via phone each Wednesday evening, between the hours of 8 and 9 PM, to field player questions about recruiting, target schools, college contacts, etc. Players are encouraged to call. ph #540-373-2157.

Club Pictures

Typhoon now has its very own website that will allow you to view and print pictures taken at club events. Just go to typhoonfieldhockey.shutterfly.com, no password required. Once there, you can view the various albums and select any prints that you desire. While there are only a few 'older' albums currently on the site, more will be added. Having a separate website for just pictures not only frees up the team's official website, but allows you to obtain prints of your favorite player.

Play-it-Again Sports

We have forged a partnership with Play-it-Again Sports to be our vendor for shin guards, sticks, court shoes, indoor gloves, etc. at much better prices than were previously available.
